motorcycle-safety We note and celebrate that deaths from motorcycle accidents have decreased this year.  Over the last decade motorcycle wrongful death has been on the increase.  However, in a study authored by safety consultant James Hedlund, we are seeing a decrease in the number of motorcycle deaths.  The data for this study comes from all fifty states.  This only means that we must work harder to educate the automobile and truck driving public more thoroughly about a significant cause of motorcycle crashes, not seeing the motorcycle.  Many crashes occur when a car or truck either pulls out in front of the motorcycle or turns in front of the motorcycle.  In these cases the motorist claims to have been looking, but just did not see the motorcycle.  Drivers must be extremely vigilant when the warmer weather brings out the motorcycle.  It will be of help if motorists do not talk on their cell phones while driving and do not text while driving.
