Indiana Drunk Driving Attorney
June 2, 2010 | Comments Off
Well, it has happened again. As I, John P. Young, Indiana drunk Driving accident attorney, was reading this mornings paper, I came across another story about an accident where alcohol was suspected as a cause of the accident. At approximately 3:15 am on Memorial Day Marco Millan-Pena was found, dead in the back seat of an abandoned vehicle which ran into a tree in the 3500 block of Moller Road. A partially full bottle of beer was found in the car. According to police, the driver and two other occupants of the car left the scene on foot, leaving behind Mr. Millan-Pena. Presumably the persons who fled were Mr. Millan-Pena’s friends. With friends like that, who needs enemies? The police found a bloody hand print at the scene and other evidence which hopefully will lead to an arrest.
Mr. Young advises that if you are in a car wreck or a highway accident it is illegal to flee the scene of the accident. It is illegal and cowardly. It is illegal and cowardly because the driver made the decision to drink and drive, the driver should listen to what his mother taught him and be responsible for making up for the harm the driver caused. It makes no difference if the collision is a drunk driving accident or a semi tractor-trailer crash. Take responsibility. If you cause a motor cycle accident and cause the wrongful death of the motorcycle driver, stand up and take responsibility. Make up for the harm you cause. No one says it will be easy, but doing the right thing isn’t always easy. If you cause a large truck crash and injure a fellow Hoosier whether the injury is a broken bone, paralysis, an amputation or any other kind of injury, do what is right, help who you have injured. The injured person probably has a family and that family is probably relying on the injured person. You stay and help that Hoosier and their family.
If you, a friend, or a loved one has been injured by a drunk driver, or a hit and run driver, call John P. Young.
